Riohacha Colombia

Riohacha is a city in northern Colombia, where the Ranchería River meets the Caribbean Sea. It is known for its native Wayúu people and for the colorful birds of the Flamingo Sanctuary southwest of the city. In Padilla Plaza stands the 19th‑century Cathedral of Our Lady of Remedies. The palm‑shaded beach features a long pier. To the northeast are the windy beaches of Mayapo and the bright white salt lakes of Manaure.
